Danny Rowe Racing’s Drivers Danny Rowe and Steve Matusek Positioned #2 and #3 in NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series Points Standings
Three races into the 2016 J&A Services NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing season, Danny Rowe and Steve Matusek, veteran drivers of the Agave Underground Tequila and Aeromotive Fuel Systems-sponsored Chevrolets, hold the #2 and #3 positions in point standings with only one point between them. thumbnailIt was late in the 2013 season when they got together and explored the opportunity to work together. Matusek was struggling with his own team and the driver of Danny Rowe’s second car was medically unable to continue due to a horrific crash earlier in the year at the US Nationals in Indianapolis. Steve ended up joining the Danny Rowe Racing team as the second driver. “I jumped at the opportunity and have never looked back. When you’re competing against some of the best cars, drivers, tuners and crews in the world, you better believe our whole team is working year round to improve our program” stated Aeromotive Inc. President Matusek. “The team spent the winter in deep testing mode and the results are clearly showing. In all honesty, you haven’t seen all we’ve got yet!” Interestingly enough, Rowe and Matusek have much more in common than a passion for racing. They are both self-made men that started their own businesses and built them into success stories. They were born three days apart, both have three daughters, and when their families met, they all connected in a very powerful way. Not only are they business partners and good friends, but also share a passion to help ensure that the Pro Mod series becomes the best sport it can be. In fact, because the Pro Mod Class had historically been experiencing various forms of instability, Matusek and Rowe took it upon themselves to form the Real Pro Mod (RPM) Association, working tirelessly to help bring Pro Mod to an NHRA professional-level series. The formula is working, and is now seen as a favorite for both fans and manufacturers because there are so many aftermarket parts used to build these over-the-top fast cars.
